pass the agress, please

This is interesting in light of PH's recent post. Kind of. I'm reflecting on the little gem stone in my box right now. Not sure what it is but my resistance is balooning to herculean proportions. This overpowering defiance surfaces in me every time I'm politely encouraged to...

holy (one) sheet

Sis-in-law Ashley is forever dispatching hip stuff from the realms of art and design. Today she filled my inbox with these magical paper creations ("Entries for an art contest at the Hirshorn Modern Art Gallery in DC requested the artist to use one sheet of paper only.")*

I like those snowballs.

*Some suspicious snoping exposed the email as a bullsheet**
**Kind of. The papercuts are the work of Danish artist Peter Callesen

hi television

I canceled my cable television over the summer after an earnest creative or spiritual meltdown, only to have it returned to me last month, through magic. Re-entry has been a jarring and wonderful journey so far. I'm not gonna lie, there are some interesting new programs on this cable television of yours and I've sprouted a fondness for two of them in particular...

The show on the travel channel where that guy goes to different countries and eats crazy shit. Tonight's ep finds him suffering through some gritty anus dish in Namibia. Anthony Bourdain is clearly a prick* and I have a like-loathe relationship with all that self indulgent voice-overing. But those wild and wacky foods he eats are exciting and they film that jammy all over the world. Which is fun. Sometimes for a pathetic and exciting second I feel as though I've traveled to a different country and learned a thing or two.

The show on VH1 where e-list celebrities like that guy from Grease the movie go to rehab together. Okay, confession -- I haven't seen it yet. It starts in five minutes. But it looks powerfully awfulsome, and reality anything about drugs or addiction or rehab and I'm on it like white on coke.

Bonus: VH1 has also been airing a bold and absorbing doc series about drugs called something like "drugs." It's outstanding.
